Arash Aghajani Nargesi

Cardiology Fellow

Dr. Nargesi is a clinical fellow at the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Brigham and Women's Hospital and research associate at the Cardiovascular Data Science (CarDS) Lab. He is an MD-MPH graduate from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Iran. He completed his Internal Medicine training at Yale School of Medicine, during which joined CarDS lab.

Dr. Nargesi has led a broad portfolio in applied artificial intelligence in cardiovascular and cardiometabolic medicine. His research interests have involved the application of natural language processing (NLP) for the automated identification of heart failure from clinical notes, and the detection of hidden cardiovascular disorders (such as left ventricular systolic dysfunction) from electrocardiograms. He has also contributed to several projects involving the analysis of real-world data, specifically from electronic health records and healthcare databases, to understand the patterns of prescription of novel cardioprotective antihyperglycemic therapies in the United States.
